Qualifying for Middle School State
This tournament is open to any wrestler enrolled in a public or private school in the state of Indiana, 5th – 8th grade. Athletes in a home school program must provide verification. The athletes cannot be 16 before January 19, 2026.
Girls have to qualify if the want to wrestle in boys division but not if they just want to do girls division.
Qualifiers
- January 18: Garrett, Crown Point, Carmel, Plymouth, Castle, Columbus North
- February 1: Valparaiso, Jeffersonville, and Warren Central
February 8 at Center Grove is State Finals.
The Top 4 finishers make it to state at the weight they qualify (no changing for state) and Tulsa still counts as a qualifier.
Middle School State Qualifiers
To register, please visit https://www.usawmembership.com . Note that no registration will occur on-site or by mail and payment is required at the time you register (no refunds). Late entries will not be accepted.
You must have a valid USAW Card to compete and USAW cards will not be sold on site. Cards may be purchased at: https://www.usawmembership.com.
The entry fee is $25 (paid on USAWMembership, not through the IHSWCA), spectator fee is $10.00 (cash only) and the tournament is run with licensed officials and on full mats. You can weigh in the night before for $20 cash.
The doors at each site open at 7:00 AM, weigh in between 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM, and wrestling begins at approximately 9:00 AM.
You must weigh in on-site using a competition singlet and on-site weigh-ins only.
The Saturday evening before each qualifier between 6:00-8:00 PM, there is a $20 cash charge for any early weigh-in.
Other Information
- Scratch weights will be used and enforced.
- You can move up if you miss weight
- If you qualify, you must wrestle in the same weight class and make scratch weight for the championships.
- NFHSA Rules will apply
- Matches will consist of three periods: 1:00 – 1:30 – 1:30 min
State
State weekend is 2/8 at Center Grove HS. There is a separate registration fee for State after qualifiers.
For Boys: Top 4 from Qualifiers can register at same weight they qualified only.
For Girls: Anyone grades 5-8 can register, no qualification necessary
Weigh in Options: Early ($20 cash charge) 7-10 PM Saturday 2/7 at Center Grove (enter Door 9) OR 7-8 AM Sunday 2/8. NOTE: If you miss weight, you cannot wrestle a different weight class. You get one attempt and an immediate challenge.

The boys weight classes are 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 110, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 144, 150, 147, 165, 175, 190, 215, 285
The girls weight classes are 55, 59, 64, 69, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 135, 150, 165, 185.
